Heaven Smith Competes In Miss Nebraska Teen Pageant

Clearwater-Orchard junior Heaven Smith recently competed in the Miss Nebraska Teen Pageant in Omaha.

The preliminary show was held was held Sat Jan. 16 at the Rose Theater. The final show was held Sunday. These shows included interviews, swimwear competition, and evening gown competition. 

Although the Orchard native was not one of the finalists, she felt the experience helped her gain confidence and leadership.

“It was a lot of fun,” Heaven said, "but definitely out of my comfort zone.”

This year was her first time participating in a pageant, and she hasn’t decided whether or not she would like to try again next year.

“My cousin completed when she was in high school,” Heaven said, “I just got a letter in the mail, filled in the information and I got accepted.”

She says although it was expensive, participating in the event gave her a different perspective and it was a “once in a life time experience."

“If anyone is thinking about doing it, I think they should,” Heaven said.
