[email protected] Antelope County has a new man on staff to take care of roads. The supervisors voted to hire Randy Finch during this months meeting. He will be stationed out of the Orchard Barn and primarily care for roads in the Orchard area. “I’m going to be grading roads and various other duties in that area,” said Finch. “There was an opening advertised in the paper, so I grabbed an application, filled it out and turned it in. I was called in for an interview and I guess the rest is history.” Finch will be working with Monte Shabram, going out on the patrol and taking care of road maintenance. “I’ll be out with the patrol, repairing them and smoothing them out again,” Finch explained. “And in the winter time it’ll also include snow removal.” Casey Dittrich, the Antelope County Road Boss, said they interviewed other individuals, but in the end the supervisors chose to hire someone from the area. “The biggest thing is being familiar with the area. Especially going in the winter time, if you’re going to push snow on roads that have bridges that you don’t know are there. It can be a hazardous thing if you don’t know the roads.” Finch will begin his new position after he completes harvest. |
