Cyclones Top Dundy County Stratton For First Win Of Playoffs

The Cyclones opened up playoff season with a 42-18 victory over No. 10 Dundy County-Stratton.

"We started off kind of slow," said Head Coach Jeff Shabram, "Our defense played aggressive, on offense we made a few mistakes, but overall the kids played really hard."

The Cyclones were the first on the board, but were quickly followed by a Tiger touchdown. Heading into the second quarter, the Cyclones only held a two point lead, but they began to pull ahead. By halftime the Cyclones were up 26-12.

In the Third quarter, the Cyclones scored again after Derik Allen recovered a fumble in the end zone. The Cyclones wrapped up the game with a 24 point lead over the Tigers.

"This is football," Shabram said, "you're only as good as your previous game, but you never know what's going to happen the next week."

The Cyclones will travel to No. 2  Perkins County for the second round of playoffs on November 4.
