Clearwater-Orchard TeamMates Receives $2,000 Grant

​The Clearwater-Orchard TeamMates chapter recently received a $2,000 grant.

The check from the United Way Venture grant was received at the chapter's April board meeting held recently.

Along with submitting an application for the grant, another criteria was that the chapter match the amount being applied for thru fundraising. The chapter hosted a Tailgate Party last fall and a Soup Supper during National Mentoring Month this past January.  With the help of free-will donations from the generous people who attended, the fundraising goal was met and the grant was awarded from the Norfolk Area United Way.  

Coordinator Diane Martin and the chapter board members would like to sincerely thank all those who continually support O/C TeamMates, whether it be thru monetary donations or by those adults who unselfishly give of their time to be mentors. Without backing from the two communities, this chapter would not exist. There are currently 65 active matches in grades 3 thru 12 at Clearwater-Orchard Schools. 

A Venture Grant from the United Way is a small, non-recurring grant to qualified, local nonprofits.  These grants are designed to meet emerging or unmet needs and/or to support innovative solutions to local issues.
