Children Compete In Orchard Celebration Kids Games

Starting at 10 a.m., children had a blast participating in multiple kids games as a part of "Seasons in the Sun" Orchard Celebration on Saturday.

Kids and adults gathered under the tent downtown in Orchard since it was raining at the fields at the time. 

Small cups were passed out to the kids for a coin pick up. The 2 and under children went first, then 3-4 and finally, 5-6. 

The weather cleared up and next, they competed in three-legged races.

In the 1-4 age group, Hunter and Lydia Twibell crossed the finish line first, McKenna and Hadley Bergman came in second and Tatum Schacht and Ansley Williby finished in third. In the 5-9 age group, Xander Tabbert and Liam Cleveland made it across first, Braelyn and Breckyn Bergman crossed second and Lakin and Ava Cleveland landed third place. The 10-14 age group followed. Ryan Rifer and Karter Bergman finished in first, Emma and Sam Dukesherer earned second and Jason Shaver and Landon Nelson came in third place. 

Next, the duck race required the competitors to squat down and try to make their way to the finish line the fastest. 

​In the 0-4 age group, Lydia Tribell crossed the line first, Zoey Heiss finished in second and McKenna Bergman followed behind in third. In the 5-9 age group, Braxton Schwager earned first, Landon Nelson was the second speediest and Sam Dukesherer finished in third. Then, the 10-14 age group followed. Isaak Maxwell was first, Karter Bergman came in second and third went to Jason Shaver.

Children partnered up for the next contest – wheel barrel races.

In the 4-9 age group, Breckyn and Braelyn Bergman barreled their way into first, Braxton Schwager and Parker Watson crossed second and Jaelyn Shaver and Ava Cleveland finished in third. The 10-14 age group was up next. Landon Nelson and Jason Shaver earned first place, Ryan Rifer and Karter Bergman followed in second and third went to Isaak Maxwell and Lakin Cleveland.

The kids games ended with a splash in the final water balloon toss competition.

Zoey Heiss and Lydia Twibell of the 0-4 age group were the last partners standing. In the 5-9 age group, Ava Cleveland and Jaelyn Shaver kept their water balloon alive the longest. Then, in the 10-14 age group, Landon Nelson and Jason Shaver were the victors.

For fun, adults 15 and older competed in a final round of water balloon tosses.

The pair with the best water balloon handling skills was Glen Cheatum and Kirk Cleveland.

Every kid who participated in the games received Orchard Bucks at the end.
