13 Cyclones Earn Powerlifting Titles; Allemang Top Male Lifter

Thirteen Clearwater-Orchard students earn individual AAU championships Saturday in powerlifting, including senior Justin Allemang, who was named top overall male lifter. 

"It was an impressive display of power Saturday as many of the Cyclone lifters increased totals and bumped up to stronger lifting clubs," coach Jeff Shabram said.

Ninety lifters from 14 communities participated in the 2016 Orchard AAU Powerlifting Meet.  Twenty-three Clearwater-Orchard Cyclone powerlifters competed in this year’s AAU championships, setting numerous personal bests. The lifters set 45 state records and 16 American records.

"Justin Allemang was crowned the overall male outstanding lifter of the meet with a 6.64 strength index," Shabram said. "Justin’s total weight lifted was 970 pounds, and he weighed in at 146.8 pounds."

Our bronze medalist was Vanessa Carpenter (raw).

Jacob Long 4th in the 165 lb (raw) class, JoBeth Humphries 4th (raw), Tyler Wright 5th in the 148 lb (raw) class, and Bryan Rodriguez 5th in the 165 lb (raw) class. Faith Woslager was the silver medalist in the bench press contest for her weight class, and Justin Allemang also won gold in the bench and ironman contests for his weight class
