Funeral Services Set For Marlene Oelsligle

Funeral services for Marlene Kay Oelsligle, age 62, of Meadow Grove, Nebraska will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Reverend Michael Awe will officiate with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Tilden.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.

Marlene died Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Pierce Manor in Pierce, Nebraska.

Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home of Tilden is in charge of arrangements.

Marlene Kay Oelsligle, daughter of Lawrence and Esther (Werkmeister) Henseleit was born April 25, 1952 at Tilden, Nebraska. She graduated from Elkhorn Valley High School and later received her LPN Degree from Northeast Community College. On February 4, 1995 she was married to Charles Oelsligle at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Tilden. They were blessed with two children: Benjamin and Roberta. 

Marlene and Charles made their home in the Tilden Community where she was employed at the Tilden Hospital for 20 years, after which she worked for Community Pride Nursing Home in Battle Creek, Nebraska. After working in Battle Creek, she drove for Prince of the Road for seven years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. She was also a member of the Oakdale Country Club and was also a 4-H leader. She loved crafting and playing cards, but her true joy was being a foster parent for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie of Meadow Grove, children, Benjamin (Jody) Whatley of Madison, Roberta Oelsligle of Norfolk; mother, Esther of Tilden; brother, Larry (Janet) Henseleit of Tilden; honorary daughter, Sarah (Bill) Scoville of Sumner, Nebraska; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
