Funeral Services For Vesta Keetle

Funeral services for Vesta Keetle, age 86, of Brunswick, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Brunswick Auditorium. Pastor Stanley Morrison will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton, Nebraska.

Vesta died Monday, June 1, 2015, at her residence.

Vesta Marie Keetle, daughter of Sylvester and Lela (Johnston) Reed, was born August 26, 1928, at Orchard, Nebraska. Vesta attended school in Brunswick, Nebraska, and graduated in 1945. On August 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lynn F. Keetle at Center, Nebraska. Two children were born to them, Jimmy L. and Arlynda M.

Vesta worked in Alton, Illinois at Owen Illinois Glass and later was a secretary at Brunswick Lumber. She and Lynn lived on a farm near Stanton, Nebraska for a year and a half until moving to their farm southwest of Brunswick. Vesta was a housewife who accepted Christ into her life in 1951, and remained faithful until the end of her life. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1954, and since 1956 had spent the rest of her life in a wheelchair.

Vesta is survived by her husband, Lynn of Brunswick, Nebraska; her children, Jimmy (Anita) Keetle and Arlynda (Monte) Montgomery; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Springer of Portland, Oregon; brother-in-law, Phil of Leesburg, Florida; sister-in-law, Grace McAndrews of Sacramento, California; one niece; and seven nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother in infancy; one half-sister, Ardath and her husband, Bernard Johnson; sister-in-law, Jaci Keetle; and brother-in-law, Orville Springer.
