Funeral Services For Mark Sehi

Mass of Christian Burial for Mark Sehi, age 91, of Oakdale, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Neligh, Nebraska. Reverend Pat Nields will be Celebrant, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale, Nebraska.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary.
Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Mark died Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Neligh Care and Rehabilitation in Neligh, Nebraska.

Mark F. Sehi, son of John and Hilda (Kallhoff) Sehi, was born November 12, 1926, at Clearwater, Nebraska. He attended rural school near Elgin, Nebraska. On June 5, 1948, Mark was united in marriage to Charlotte Mae Funk at St. John’s Church in Clearwater. They were blessed with six children, Jane, Wanda, Art, Nancy, Tracy, and Terry.

Mark farmed for a while before purchasing The Whitespot in Neligh, Nebraska with his brother, Virtus. Mark returned to farming for a time and then he built the Hi-Lo Bar in Oakdale that he and Mae operated until 1999.

Mark was a member of the Neligh Volunteer Fire Department. He loved hunting, fishing, and hunting coyotes.

Mark is survived by his children, Jane (John) Schultz of Oakdale, Wanda Richart of Norfolk, Art Sehi (Vickie Carstens) of Oakdale, Nancy (Brad) Dietz of Pierre, SD, Tracy Sehi of Neligh, and Terry (Kathy) Sehi of Neligh; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marge Kurtenbach of Newman Grove.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Virtus; sister, Marcella; and a granddaughter, Shellene Richart.
