Funeral Services For Marie Trease

Funeral Service or Marie Trease age 99 of Clearwater, NE will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater with Pastor Daniel Feusse, Officiating. Visitation will be 5-7:30 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clearwater Cemetery. Marie was called to the be with the Lord Jesus on August 1, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Neligh. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Marie Loretta Trease, the daughter of John and Magdelina Schreiber, was born June 11, 1917, at Platte Center, Nebraska. She moved with her parents to the Schreiber family farm north of Clearwater at the age of three. Marie attended school at Dist. 88 rural school. As a young women Marie helped on her parent's farm and worked for neighbors, doing whatever needed to be done. She was united in marriage on February 24, 1943, to Bernard Trease at the Holt County Court House in O'Neill, NE.

​After marriage Marie lived on the family farm north of Clearwater, Nebraska. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising 8 children along with other farm duties. Bernard and Marie enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his passing in 1989. She moved into the Willows, an assisted living facility in Neligh, NE in 2010. In 2012 she moved to The Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE. She was the oldest member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater, NE at the time of her passing. Marie enjoyed quilting, raising chickens, gardening, playing cards and cooking and of course collecting things. Marie was also active in Pleasant Dale Club and Ladies Aid.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Raymond, sister Edna, brother Ervin, half-sister Elsie and three half-brothers Ernst, Walter and Louis. Daughter-in-law Sharrie Trease. Grandson Jerod Bolling.
She is survived by one daughter Janice (Merlin) Bolling of Clearwater, NE, six sons, Leroy (Janice) Trease of Pleasant Dale, NE, Marvin (Rhonda) Trease of Elwood, NE, Jerald Trease of Omaha, NE, Harold (Lynn) Trease of Blacksburg, VA, Dwaine (Deb) Trease of Clearwater, NE, Richard (Lynette) Trease of Clearwater, NE; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, other relatives; and her many neighbors and friends.
