Funeral Services For Fred Spieker

Fred Clarence Spieker, 82, of Albion, formerly of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society-Wolf Memorial in Albion.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton. A rosary will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will be at a later date. To honor Fred’s wishes, cremation was chosen.

Fred, son of Fred W. and Louise (Friedman) Spieker Sr., was born March 25, 1937 at Petersburg. He grew up on a farm north of Petersburg and graduated from St. John’s Catholic School. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. In November of 1960, Fred married Rosamund Thieman. To this union, five children were born: Doug, Bonnie, Wendy, Mike, and Diane. He made a living farming south of Petersburg and loved hunting, fishing, and had an interest in Native American history.

He is survived by his children, Doug (Mandy) Spieker, Bonnie (Dave) Molt, Wendy (Nick) Henn, Mike (Chris) Spieker, and Diane (Ray) Dozler; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Buelt; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Spieker and Laura Mae Spieker; along with many nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cletus, Linus, Bob, Leroy, and Lawrence; and sisters, Rosamond Klein, Agatha Richart, Florence Luettel, and Mae Moser.
