Funeral Services For Dwaine Green

Services for Dwaine H. Green, 62, of rural Ewing, will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at the United Methodist Church in O’Neill.

Burial will be in the Chambers Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill.

Dwaine passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, due to injuries from a ranching accident. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol, 2 daughters; Megan Jacob and husband Scott of Neligh, NE, Melissa Kasselder and husband Drew of Rural Ewing, NE, his Mother, Marjorie Green of Chambers, NE, his Mother-In-Law, Mary Jareske of Fullerton, NE, 6 grandchildren: Addyson, Walker, Cooper and Zandra Jacob, and Corbin and Easton Kasselder, 2 sisters; Connie Plugge and husband Jesse of Bartlett, NE, Lu Plugge and husband Roy of Bartlett, NE, and one brother, Les Green and wife Cindy of Ewing, NE, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald (Bud) Green, brother Douglas, grandparents, and Father-In-law Leo Jareske. Dwaine Harvey Green was born August 18, 1953, in O’Neill, NE, to Marjorie and Donald “Bud” (Harvey) Green. He attended grade school in rural Chambers and District 21 in Wheeler County. He graduated from Wheeler Central High School in 1971 and attended and graduated from college at UNSTA in Curtis, NE, in 1973.
On September 25, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Jareske, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rural Clearwater, NE. To this union, 2 daughters were born: Megan Marie and Melissa Ann. In his younger years, Dwaine enjoyed rodeoing, which included steer wrestling and team roping. After starting a family, he gave up rodeoing. He team penned for a few years and then picked up team roping again in later years. He was a true rancher at heart. He liked caring for his cattle, riding and trading horses. The greatest joy came from his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. They loved to go with Papa in the tractor and check cows. In the last few years, Dwaine and Carol enjoyed traveling to Arizona where he enjoyed roping with friends. Dwaine was a member of the Chambers United Methodist Church and Sons of the American Legion. He was also a member of Midstates Rodeo Association, Sandhills Cattlemen Association, AQHA, R-Calf, and was Midstates Rodeo Association Steer Wrestling Champion in 1975. Rev. Gary Merritt and Rev. Bruce Phillips will officiate.
