Funeral Services For Douglas Halsey

Funeral services for Douglas C. Halsey, age 66, of Tilden, Nebraska will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. John Petersen will officiate, with burial in Tilden City Cemetery.  

Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   

Douglas died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, following a one vehicle accident near Oakdale, Nebraska.


Douglas Carl Halsey, son of Mack and Ola (Cornett) Halsey, was born September 12, 1949, at Tilden, Nebraska. Doug attended Tilden Public School. He worked various jobs throughout his life. Doug worked on a farm near Tilden with the Oelsligle family, at a gas station in Norfolk, Nebraska, the bowling alley in Tilden, and also helped out at Tilden City Cemetery. He lived at Westwood Homes for several years.

Doug loved to bowl and participated in in several bowling tournaments around the country with his older brother Dean. He also liked to play cards with his friends and enjoyed playing darts.

Doug is survived by his brother, Don (Dottie) Halsey of Omaha, Nebraska and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Ola Halsey; sister, Catherine; and brothers, Dean, Delbert, and Duane.
