Funeral Services For Carsten Lorenzen

Funeral services for Carsten P. Lorenzen, age 93, of Tilden, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Reverend Michael Awe will officiate, with burial in Tilden City Cemetery.   

Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7603, American Legion Post 170, and American Legion Riders.   

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.   

Carsten died Monday, November 30, 2015, at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, Nebraska.   

Carsten P. Lorenzen, son of Carsten M. and Catherine (Hoos) Lorenzen, was born January 31, 1922, at Meadow Grove, Nebraska. Carsten attended rural school in the Meadow Grove and Tilden, Nebraska area. He served in the United States Air Force from 1941 until 1945. On October 5, 1947, Carsten was united in marriage to Mildred Timperley. Three children were born to them: Kenneth, Linda, and Jeanene.  

Carsten farmed southwest of Tilden. He retired in 1984 and moved into Tilden. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 170, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7603. Carsten served on District #2 School Board and Rural Fire Department Board. He belonged to Tilden Senior Citizens and Square Dance Clubs in Tilden and Oakdale, Nebraska. Carsten liked to go fishing in his spare time.   

Carsten is survived by his children, Ken (Linda) Lorenzen of Sutton, Nebraska, Linda (Jim) Gerding of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jeanene Lorenzen of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Gerding, Amanda Dora Gerding (Peter Cales), Traci (Corey) Ebert, Jason Lorenzen (Amanda Mortensen), and Kristi Lorenzen; five great-grandchildren, Kellen, Kierra, Brooks, and Hallie Ebert, and Mavis Gerding-Cales; sisters, Anna Petersen, Katherine Hansen, and Alice Bradley; and many nieces and nephews.   

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred; brother, John Lorenzen; and sister, Ruth Hansen.
