Funeral Service Set For Gladys Roberts

Gladys Belle Roberts, age 82, was born on October 20, 1932, in Jackson, MN, the daughter of Orrie and Lyda (Mix) Andersen. They moved to Worthington when she was in high school and she graduated from Worthington Senior High in 1951. Gladys was united in marriage to Ken W. Roberts on February 3, 1953, in Worthington. Gladys worked at Wolff’s Department Store. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. Gladys loved being a mom, grandmother and a great grandmother. She enjoyed baking and reading. Gladys died on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at her residence at Ecumen Meadows in Worthington. 

Gladys is survived by her husband, Ken; two daughters, Roxanne (Percy) Thompson of Ettrick, WI and Jeri (Dennis) Anderson of Neligh, NE; two sons, Kenneth Roberts III (Sharon) of Riverside, CA and Robin (Judy) Roberts of McFarland, WI; ten grandchildren, Sara (Ron), Eric (Liz), Ryan, Matt (Allison), Andrew, Jamie, Shane, Cassie, Alex and Derek, and four great grandchildren, Kaylee, Luke, Emmett and Annabelle. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Galen Smith officiating. Gladys’ grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Worthington. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and also from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington.
