2 Transported: SUV Veers Across Highway 275 & Cowboy Trail

An SUV veered across Highway 275 and over the Cowboy Trail before landing in the ditch early Saturday evening in a one-vehicle accident.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the vehicle was west bound on Highway 275 about 1 mile east of Oakdale when it suddenly veered southwest. The SUV narrowly missed a shelter belt of trees after it crossed the Cowboy Trail.

No information is available as to what caused the accident. There were four occupants in the vehicle, and officials said two were transported to Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh.

The accident occurred at about 5:15 p.m. The SUV stopped near the intersection of 844 Road and 529th Avenue about 1 mile east of Oakdale.

The accident remains under investigation by the NSP. The Antelope County Sheriff's Department, Neligh Police, Oakdale Fire Department, Neligh-Oakdale Jaws of Life, Neligh Rescue and Neligh Fire Department all responded to the accident. Highway traffic was not impacted by the accident.
