OnOne of Darryl Lierman’s jury trials has been postponed to this summer.
Lierman, 51, was set to stand trial in Antelope and Madison counties during the months of January and February; however, the Madison County trial has been continued to June .
The trial in Antelope County is still scheduled to begin in Neligh on Monday, January 8.
Lierman faces similar charges in both counties. In Antelope County, he has been charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child and three counts of child abuse. His Madison County charges are two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of child abuse and conspiracy to commit child abuse.
On Friday, Madison County Public Defender Matthew Headley motioned for a continuance in his case, stating that he needed more time. Judge Mark Johnson sustained the request and continued the trial date from Feb. 12 to June 6.
Lierman is being held in the Madison County Jail on a bond of 10 percent of $500,000.
