Neligh-Oakdale Basketball Teams Split With Bloomfield

The Neligh-Oakdale basketball teams split games at home on Friday night.

The Warriors edged out Bloomfield, 54-47, while the Lady Warriors fell, 51-22.

The boys got off to a slow start, scoring just 4 points in the first quarter. They trailed Bloomfield 12-4 heading into the second. The Warriors came out strong in the second quarter and lit up the scoreboard, putting up 25 points to take the lead and never looked back.

"Ugly win there is no doubt about it," Warrior Coach Frank Gade said. "We played well one quarter and somehow still won the ball game. Our focus and intensity was very poor tonight and it showed on the court. Moving forward that will need to improve if we want to reach our goals."

Chris Bentley led the balancing scoring for the Warriors with 13 points, followed by Tyson Belitz with 12 and Alex Kerkman with 11. Click here for complete game stats.
