On Wednesday January 10th four members of the Neligh-Oakdale FFA Chapter participated in the District X Leadership Development Events hosted by West Holt FFA.
Freshman Cody Booth and Jackson Keetle competed in Creed Speaking where they delivered the FFA Creed to a panel of judges and then answered a series of questions. Booth earned a blue ribbon and Keetle a white ribbon. Junior Kristen Snodgrass and senior Bailey Frey participated in Employment Skills. Prior to the event, they created a resume, cover letter, and business cards.
On the day of competition, they completed a handwritten application, job interview, and wrote a thank you letter. Snodgrass received a red ribbon and Frey received a purple ribbon finishing in 7th place, one spot out of finals. Throughout the day, all students watched other events to gather ideas for what they could participate in next year.
"All students represented Neligh-Oakdale well in a very competitive district that will see several state finalists at State FFA Convention in April," said Kali Bohling, N-O FFA sponsor.
Up next for Neligh-Oakdale FFA is National FFA week February 19-23. On February 27th, members will travel to Northeast Community College for District X Career Development Events.
