It’s not officially summer until the annual “Summer Bash” at the drive-in. TK/Starlite Drive-In has big plans for this weekend’s annual event, including a bounce house, games, contests and lots of prizes. The "Summer Bash" will be Saturday, June 7, beginning at 7 p.m. “This is a great way to kick off the summer,” said manager Brittany Kallhoff. “This is always a fun event that families from all over look forward to every year.” Kallhoff said families plan to attend the “Summer Bash” regardless of the movies, which are always family-friendly for the event. This year is no exception with “Disney’s Bears” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Gates open at 7 p.m. and Kallhoff said families can plan to spend the entire evening at the Neligh drive-in, which is one of just two left in the state. “We have five or six great games planned. 106Kix (radio) will be here shooting t-shirts and free movie passes,” she said. “Plus, we have a great concession stand with hamburger baskets, cheeseburgers, mini-corn dogs and so much more. We encourage people to come early, bring their families and plan on being here for a night of fun.” New to the drive-in this year are t-shirts and wristbands. Kallhoff said both items are available at the drive-in and online at their website www.nelighdriveintheater.com. Proceeds go toward the purchase of the drive-in’s new digital projector, which was a six-figure investment to keep the nostalgic location open. “We just ordered more t-shirts and are excited to be offering them this year,” Kallhoff said. “This is a great way for people to show their support, and we really appreciate them coming back to our drive-in every year." |
