30+ Year Tradition Continues As N-O 2nd Graders Plant Tree

In honor of Arbor Day, the Neligh-Oakdale second-graders helped the Neligh Tree Board plant a tree on Friday morning at Riverside Park.

The second-graders study trees in school this time of year, so the tree board involves them in tree planting somewhere in the park. They help board members plant the tree, fill the dirt in, put the mulch on and hear about how trees grow and what they need.

The Tree Board has been planting a tree with the second-graders for more than 30 years.
