Larissa  Nelson and Sam Funk, along with their families, are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

Parents of the couple are John Nelson of Orchard, Darin and Lori Boelter of Brunswick, and Dennis and the late Susan Funk of Clearwater.

The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Orchard High School. She received her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2010. She is currently employed by the Antelope County Sheriff's Office as a dispatcher, jailer and reserve deputy. She is also employed with the Antelope County Attorney's Office as the juvenile service officer.

The groom-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Clearwater High School. He received his associate's degree in diesel technology from Northeast Community College in 2005. He then furthered his education and received his paramedic certification in 2012. He is currently employed by the Neligh Police Department as a patrolman. Sam is also employed by Midwest Medical Transport and is a volunteer firefighter with the Neligh Fire Department.

The couple will be married September 27 at the Summerland Golf Course in Ewing.
