Wolfpack Wrap Up Volleyball Season As District Runner-Up

It was a full house Thursday night in the Norfolk Catholic gym as the Wolfpack took on Crofton in a five-set thriller for the district title. 

It was the third straight year Elgin Public Pope John played Crofton for a chance at state. The Wolfpack fell short 3-2, losing 18-25, 25-16, 25-13, 23-25, 15-5 to the defending state runner-up Warriors.

The Wolfpack came out on fire taking the first set but dropped the next two. In a close set, the girls rallied and took the fourth, stretching the game to five sets.

EPPJ had 38 kills on the night, 12 from senior Jenna Parks. Liz Selting led the Wolfpack in digs with 21, quickly followed by Jordan Mescher with 19. 

The Wolfpack end the season with a 25-7 record and district runner-up plaque.
