The NVC Volleyball Tournament was in full swing in Elgin last night.
North Central topped West Holt in the first game of the night, 3-1. With Santee dropping out of the tournament, this put the Knights up against the Wolfpack in the second match. It was a close matchup of No. 4 Elgin Public Pope John and No. 5. North Central. The first two sets were very close, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. However, the Wolfpack pulled ahead in the third and won the match 25-17, 25-22, 25-9. The Wolfpack put down 38 kills on the night - junior Liz Selting leading with 13 and senior Jenna Parks had 11. Selting also served up five of the team's 12 overall aces. Junior Jordan Mescher led the team in digs, picking up 17 of the teams's 37 digs. The 23-4 team will advance to the NVC semifinals. Up next, the Wolfpack will face the top team in the conference, Stuart. They will face each other in Neligh on Tuesday night at 6:15 p.m. The match will be livestreamed here. |
