Wolfpack Rally Past N-O After Suffering First Loss Of Season

After rattling off 21-straight wins to start the season, Elgin Public/Pope John finally took their first loss on Tuesday night at their own triangular.

In their first match of the night, the Wolfpack took on Riverside with the Chargers coming out on top in three sets, 20-25, 25-16, 18-25. 

The Wolfpack showed a strong offense in the match, with Amy Nelson and Liz Selting leading the way with 12 kills each. However, EPPJ's struggled with Riverside's serving, allowing 10 aces in the match.

Now looking to rebound for a loss for the first time all year, the Wolfpack took on Neligh-Oakdale, winning in straight sets in strong fashion, 25-10 and 25-16.

Selting once again led the Wolfpack attack, recording seven kills. Paige Meis added four kills of her own. On the defensive end, Jordan Mescher brought up four digs to lead EPPJ.

The Warriors also took on Riverside, losing in straight sets 25-15 and 25-18. 

Neligh-Oakdale also struggled with the Chargers' serves, allowing eight aces. Other statistics for the Warriors are currently unavailable.

Now at 22-1, the Wolfpack look to finish out the regular season in strong fashion as they take on Niobrara/Verdigre on Thursday before a Tuesday night showdown with Burwell to end the regular season.
