Wolfpack Has All The Tools To Make A Splash In 2016

Three years, three district runner-ups. That's been the story for the Elgin Public/Pope John Wolfpack volleyball team in recent years.

Lead by coach Tina Thiele-Blecher, the Wolfpack hope they now have the pieces to push one step further and win a district championship and make the state tournament. With five returning seniors in 2016, the Wolfpack has a strong foundation to build on to win the elusive district championship.

Seniors Liz Selting, Amy Nelson, Baylee Wemhoff and Jordan Mescher will lead an eager Elgin Public/Pope John squad as they step on the court for the first time in 2016. They will travel to Stuart as part of a double triangular.

Players to watch: All 24 of our players are key players to the team, whether it's a game or practice, each one plays their role towards our team goals!

2016 Outlook: "We have a great bunch of hard working girls that are working towards that common goal. We are trusting in each other to make each better every day!" - coach Tina Thiele-Blecher. The Wolfpack have a very gifted squad and are very well coached. Over the past few years, coach Thiele-Blecher has led as good of a program as their is in the area. With the move to D1, this should be the year to finally get that district title.
