Wolfpack Fall To Cardinals In NVC Consolation Game

In front of a packed house, the Elgin Public/Pope John volleyball squad went in to their consolation match up with St. Mary's looks to bounce back from just their second loss of the season.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals were also looking to bounce back, and they did.

The Wolfpack fell in four sets to the Cardinals 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-9.

After taking the first set, the Wolfpack looked to be well on their way to getting back into the winning column. However, after losing two tight sets, EPPJ just seemed as if they had lost their desire to win in a fourth set dominated by the Cardinals.

Amy Nelson and Liz Selting led the Wolfpack attack on the night, putting down 13 and 15 kills, respectively. Jordan Mescher had a solid night serving, recording three aces while Selting recorded two. 

The Wolfpack now look to regroup by Monday for the opening night of subdistrict play.
