After taking a 38 percent increase in valuations last year, the 13 percent increase this year is a little easier for Antelope County landowners to swallow.
Antelope County Assessor Kelly Mueller certified the taxable value and value attributable growth on Tuesday. She said the county increased about $300,000,000 this year as compared to the nearly $635,000,000 increase last year. The City of Neligh saw the biggest growth in valuations of any of the county's municipalities ($4.6 million). More details on Neligh. Elgin’s value attributed to growth increased by $985,855 compared to $652,837 last year. Clearwater grew by $442,014 ($834,646 last year) and Orchard didn’t see any growth in valuation. Last year Orchard’s valuation grew by over $1.7 million, which was attributed to the CVA facility being built along Highway 20. In comparing school districts, Elgin’s taxable valuation increased by $91 million. Neligh-Oakdale’s increased by $58 million, Orchard by $42 million, Clearwater by $41 million and Elkhorn Valley by $26 million. Elkhorn Valley also has a significant amount of land valuation in Madison County that is not included in this number. |
