Pope John Hosts 'Spirit Mornings' Radio Show

Students and staff at one Elgin school had the chance to interact with one of the largest radio networks in the Midwest. 

Pope John XXIII students and staff welcomed the Spirit Catholic Radio Network to school Tuesday, December 6.  The station sent "Spirit Mornings" show hosts, Bruce McGregor and Jen Brown to host their show live from the halls of Pope John.  The station is heard across most of Nebraska, Western Iowa and other parts of the Midwest.

The show featured Pope John President, Father Kevin Vogel, Principal Betty Getzfred and third generation Pope John students, Emily Mlnarik, Heather, Austin and Natalie Bauer. Several faculty and staff were showcased as well. Deacon and Alumnus John Starman was featured on the "Good Book Club" segment. Students, Nicole Payne, Marie Meis and Noah Knievel talked about their roles in the new Pope John Broadcasting program.

The show concluded with the junior high band playing "Deck the Halls" and "O' Little Town of Bethlehem" and the high school choir sang "Carol of the Bells."
