The Pope John Choir will help viewers across Nebraska get into the Christmas spirit during a Christmas Eve special on KMTV-Omaha.
The special, which will air on Sunday night, features six different schools in the Archdiocese of Omaha singing pieces of their choices. Rachel Becker, the music teacher at Pope John, said that the station sent out an email asking for schools to participate. "I received an email that had been passed along by Mrs. Getzfred about the station searching for music groups in the Archdiocese of Omaha to participate. I submitted our name, and our school, along with five others, were chosen from a drawing to participate." Because of the distance away from the station, the group was unable to go into the studio to record. Becker said that the station let them record themselves and submit their video. The Pope John Broadcasting students Nicki Payne, Marie Meis and Ashton Krebs filmed and edited the video of the choir and submitted it to the station. The Christmas Eve special will air at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday night on KMTV-Omaha and can also be viewed online at www.3newsnow.com. |
