New P.J./S.B. Logo To Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

During Catholic Schools Week, Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School and St. Boniface Elementary School in Elgin, unveiled a new joint logo that signifies both school's rich histories and embraces the PreK-12 grade Catholic educational system that the schools offer to the area.

“The launch of our new logo kicks-off a joint effort by both schools to work together on marketing, recruitment and enrollment management” said Pope John XXIII’s Director of Advancement, Anna Meis.  Pope John XXIII High School and St. Boniface Elementary share the same facility, so it only makes sense to work together to spread the message about Catholic Schools.”

The logo represents the mascots of the two schools, the Pope John XXIII Crusaders and the St. Boniface School Knights.  Each school’s initials are represented on the sides of a cross on a joint shield. 

The logo is just the first step in a comprehensive effort the schools have embarked on as a part of the Archdiocese of Omaha’s Awaken Greatness campaign. The Awaken Greatness campaign is a comprehensive branding/advertising campaign for Catholic schools being initiated by the Archdiocese to continue increasing enrollments in Catholic schools.

Pope John XXIII and St. Boniface Elementary have created an Awaken Greatness Ambassador Program designed to gain input on marketing, recruitment and enrollment management from parents and staff.  The first task of the 11 member group was to provide input on the logo design process.

In addition to the unveiling of the new logo, other events happening during Catholic Schools Week, January 31stthrough Feb. 6th include: Pope John Book Fair all week long in the PJ Library, Parent’s Day on Wednesday beginning with Mass at 8:15 am, Business Appreciation Lunch on Thursday at the KC Hall from 11:00 am-12:30 pm, Artist in Residence Performance on Friday at 1:00 pm in St. Boniface Gym.  The performance is free and open to the public.
