Heithoff Leads Way For Wolfpack After First Round At State

The Elgin Public/Pope John golf team completed the first round of the Class C state golf meet today.

The team shot a 375 at the Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln and currently sits in 15th place after the first 18 holes. The second round will begin tomorrow morning.

Leading the way for the Wolfpack was junior Kyle Heithoff who is in a tie for 66th place with an 87. The team's other members sit between 83rd and 95th place with Chad Bode, 92; Miles Schrage, 96; Jackson Borer, 100; Regan Kerkman, 102.

Sam Meuret of Plainview is sitting in first place after day one with a 68, which is 2 under.
