Five Elgin Public FCCLA Students Earn Trip To Nationals

Five Elgin Public students have earned a trip to the national FCCLA contest.

National qualifiers were announced Tuesday during the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference in Lincoln.

Elgin FCCLA members heading to the national conference in San Antonio, Texas, July 6-10, are Madison Voborny, Stephanie Bode, Sharla Schindler, Austin Miller and Dylan Widger.

Voborny, Bode and Schindler finished with gold in Interpersonal Communications - Senior while Miller and Widger received gold in Life Event Planning - Senior. 

Ivy Prater, Hunter Thramer silver in Focus on Children - Senior

Seven Elgin students qualified for state and competed in the STAR contest on Monday. Ivy Prater and Hunter Thramer received a silver in Focus On Children.

Their FCCLA sponsor is Barb Bode.
