EPPJ Starts Volleyball Season Strong, Going 2-0 In Stuart

In their quest for another strong season, the Elgin Public/Pope John Wolfpack started it on the right foot, going 2-0 at the Stuart Double Triangular Thursday evening.

The Wolfpack took the court in game one of the night, taking on the host school, Stuart. The Wolfpack won the match in dominant fashion, 25-13 and 25-11. 

Leading the way for EPPJ was senior Liz Selting. She recorded seven kills and three aces, while fellow senior Amy Nelson had six kills and two aces. Nelson added four blocks defensively as well.

In the second match-up of the evening, the Wolfpack took on Chambers/Wheeler Central, winning 20-25, 25-22 and 25-15.

Selting once again had a strong match at the net, recording nine kills. Jordan Mescher was also very active for the Wolfpack, recording 20 digs.

The Wolfpack will return home September 6 when they host their own double triangular.
