EPPJ Girls Advance In NVC With Win Over Neligh-Oakdale

The EPPJ girls basketball team advanced after cruising to a 51-26 victory over Neligh-Oakdale in the first round of the NVC Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Wolfpack jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter and led 24-5 at the half. N-O got some offense going in the final two quarters, but couldn't overcome the early deficit.

Jenna Parks led EPPJ with 17 points, followed by Jordan Mescher with 9; Baylee Wemhoff 7; Liz Selting 6; Allyson Wemhoff 4; and Amy Nelson, Lydia Behnk, Calli Krebs and Paige Meis each with 2.

The Lady Warriors were led by Kinsley Klabenes with 11 points, followed by Bailey Frey with 6; Shelby Keetle and Whitney Beacom each with 4; and Jayda Chance with 2.

EPPJ will take on the winner of the Santee vs North Central game on Monday, February 1. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. at St. Mary's in O'Neill.
