Elgin Junior Class Receives Donation From Invenergy

The Junior Class at Elgin Public will have some financial assistance with their East Coast Trip due to a generous donation by Invenergy.

Luke Hinkle, Operations and Maintenance Manager at Prairie Breeze Energy Center, presented the Elgin Public School Board with a $2000 donation to go towards the Junion Class Trip this summer.

Each summer, the Elgin Public's Junior Class travels to the East Coast on a four-day trip that includes touring many landmarks in both Washington D.C. and New York City. The trip is made possible by fundraising, donations from people and businesses in the community, and the Rural Education Achievement Program (REAP) Grant, a grant given out by the US Department of Education to smaller rural schools to be put towards non-curiculum related activities.
