Bode And Mescher Crowned Royalty At Pope John

Homecoming activities officially began in Elgin on Sunday with the coronation at Pope John.

Chad Bode and Jordan Mescher were crowned king and queen at the St. Boniface gym. Other activities continued throughout the evening. 

The 2016 Pope John king candidates were:
Chad Bode, son of Charlie and Shelley, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Elgin.
Justin Funk, son of Ron and Angela, a member of Rural St. John Parish in Clearwater.
Brody Hupp, son of Ben and Jamie, a member of Rural St. John Parish in Clearwater.
Noah Knievel, son of Edward Knievel and Lauren Sheridan-Simonsen, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Elgin.
Miles Schrage, son of Jerry and Tami, a member of St. Bonaventure Parish in Raeville.
James Short, son of Paul and Erin Ruterbories, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Neligh.

The 2016 Pope John queen candidates are:
Erin Beckman, daughter of Gary and Lori, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Elgin.
Gracie Bullock, daughter of Stephen Bullock and Natalie Bitney, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Neligh.
Jordan Mescher, daughter of Bill and Teri, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Elgin.
Amy Nelson, daughter of Randy and Diane, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Elgin.
Shantel Preister, daughter of Scott and Kaylyn, a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Petersburg.
Emily Seier, daughter of Craig and Gini, a member of St. Bonaventure Parish in Raeville.
Elizabeth Selting, daughter of Lynn and Amy, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Elgin. 

At Pope John, the week will be filled with various fun dress-up days. The schedule for the week is:
Monday - What The Heck Are You Wearing Day
Tuesday - Class Destination Day
Wednesday - Class Movie/TV Show Day
Thursday - Throwback Thursday
Friday - Spirit Day

At Elgin Public, the school will also have various dress-up days, with classes earning points for having the most students dressed up. Their will also be a best-dressed competition each day at lunch. The schedule for Elgin Public is:
Monday - American Day
Tuesday - Beach Day for the high school students and Twin Day for elementary students
Wednesday - Weight Lifter Wednesday for the high school students and Wacky Wednesday for the elementary students
Thursday - Class Color Day. Each class should wear their chosen colors.

                              - Seniors - Blue
                              - Juniors - White
                              - Sophomores - Orange
                              - Freshman - Camo
                              - 8th Grade - Black
                              - 7th Grade - Red
                - For the elementary students, it is Sports Day
Friday - Spirit Day

There will also be a Sidewalk Chalk Decorating Contest, Poster Contest and a Class Cheer.
