Winning Ways Continue For Cyclone Girls Against St. Francis

The Clearwater-Orchard girls just continue to find ways to win.

The Cyclones traveled to Humphrey to take on a one-loss St. Francis squad Thursday night, pulling out a 41-37 win for the sixth straight.

A couple of seniors once again led the way for the Cyclones. Senior Kylie Thiele connected on four of her seven shots for 13 points while fellow senior Kinzly Macke added 13 of her own on five of 15 shooting. Allison Kerkman and Brooklynn Chipps added four each.

Macke's strong season under the rim continued with nine rebounds. Allee Snider added seven rebounds. Kerkman was strong defensively, leading the way with four steals.

In the second half of the night, the boys were unable to build off their exciting win earlier in the week, falling to the Flyers 75-44. They shot a respectable 42 percent from the floor but also gave up 34 turnovers.

Sophomore Ryan Wilhelm had a great night, shooting 88 percent to lead the Cyclones with 15 points. Just two days after his fantastic game winner, Liam Odell added 10. 

Travis Kerkman once again led the Cyclones on the boards, collecting seven rebounds. Chris Kester dished out three assists and Jacob Long got away with three steals.
