Trevor Mlnarik Earns Top Medal At N-V Golf Invite

Despite the rainy weather, Antelope County golfers fared well in the Niobrara-Verdigre Golf Tournament on Wednesday. 

The Wolfpack won the team title, Neligh-Oakdale was third, and Cyclone Trevor Mlnarik was the top medalist with an 80.

"For Trevor Mlnarik, the weather was good, as he shot 39-41 in the two rounds to tie for first place," O-C Coach Bill Tabbert said. "This lead to a playoff and on the first playoff hole, Trevor made a par to win the first place medal over Justis Hoffart of Crofton." 

Liam Heithoff of EPPJ was third with an 82, and Brent Evans of Crofton fourth with an 83. The meet was won by the EPPJ team shooting a 340, followed by Osmond with a 346, Neligh-Oakdale 356, Bloomfield/Wausa 361, Crofton 364, Clearwater-Orchard 377, Boyd County 389, CWC 392 and Ewing 436. Niobrara/Verdigre and Santee did not have full teams.

In addition to Heithoff, the first-place Wolfpack had three more golfers break into the top 15 to capture individual medals - Kyle Heithoff 83; Chad Bode 86 and Miles Schrage 89. 

Neligh-Oakdale took third place as a team as Brady Kallhoff and Garett Allemang each shot an 87 to receive individual medals. Jordan Murray was the top JV golfer at the meet and won the medal with a score of 88.

The Clearwater-Orchard placed sixth in the meet: Cameron Bolling 91,  Keelie Meyer 99,  Zach Martin 107 and Riley Snider 112. JV players: Jacob Twibell 105,  Peyton Clifton 115 and Travis Rudloff 122.
