Three Cyclone Wrestlers Medal In Tough West Holt Meet

Three Cyclone wrestlers earned medals in a tough field of competition at the West Holt Invitational on Saturday. 

Alex Olivan placed second in the 195-pound division, narrowly losing a 3-1 decision in the finals. Riley Snider earned 3rd place at 160 pounds, and Alex Wilder was 4th at 170.

"This weekend was a good learning experience for the Cyclone wrestlers," Coach Dan Roeber said. "We were able to see some teams that we don't normally see during the year. We were able to come out of the meet with 3 medals. The competition was very tough this weekend with a class A team and several class C teams. These are the kinds of meets that will make us better for the end of the year."  

The Clearwater-Orchard team placed 8th in the meet. Norfolk High won the invitational with 178 points. The Cyclones will host Lutheran High Northeast for a dual meet in Orchard on Thursday.
