Over a thousand people showed up today, just south of Clearwater at Thiele Dairy for their open house. But it wasn’t just a big day for the Thiele family, it was a big day for Antelope County.
Thiele Dairy held their open house on the same day that Antelope County was being recognized as a Livestock Friendly County. Tours, food and music were happening all afternoon to celebrate such a big achievement for the Thiele family and for Antelope County. The Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska, Mike Foley was present to see just how impressive Thiele dairy is.
“My goodness, what an impressive operation," Foley said. "I had no idea what this was going to look like. I expected odors and manure and all that kind of stuff and it was just clean as a whistle. And so efficient, what an efficient operation.”
Thiele Dairy opened their doors and showed the community how their operation works, and how important livestock is to not just Antelope County, but the whole country and world.
“And the Thiele Dairy in Antelope County is positioned to be big players in helping to feed the world and helping to feed our country," Foley said.
Many different FFA and 4-H chapters came for the tour and to show their support to the future generations of agriculture. The excitement showed over all ages that were present, on just how much agriculture has grown.
“Its just such great excitement for me personally to be here and witness the efficiency of modern day agriculture," Foley said.
This isn’t the last of the expansion for the Thiele family. They have it planned out so that if they want to expand even more in the future, they can.
