Sheriff's Office Advises Caution After Juvenile Approached

A report of two males in Clearwater approaching a juvenile female Thursday was investigated by the Antelope County Sheriff's Department within minutes of the alleged event. 

According to the sheriff's department, it was reported to them that two males in a blue "boxy vehicle" with Antelope County plates approached a juvenile female and asked her if she wanted a ride. The young girl ran to a nearby church when she thought the men were getting out of the vehicle.

A deputy arrived on scene within minutes but did not locate a vehicle that matched the description. 

The sheriff's office said the youth responded appropriately by fleeing and contacting authorities. They also encouraged parents to remind their children of stranger danger, as well as not approaching a stopped vehicle, even with local plates.

"We remind people to always be cautious and to immediately report any conditions that appear to be suspicious in nature," the sheriff's office said.
