What is your favorite memory of high school? My favorite memory of high school would be going on road trips to different little cemeteries out in the country and tricking Tyler Wright to get out of the car in the dark. We quickly locked him out and took off about a quarter mile down the road. Five minutes later, we went back to find him and had no idea where he was; he was hiding in the ditch from us.
What advice can you offer underclassmen? Advice I would offer underclassmen is that it is never too late to start trying. No matter what you’re involved in, always try to focus on your academics because that is what is going to get you further in life. Your academic excellence is what is going to get you your dream job, and honestly, how well you can run or throw is not going to be a factor potential employers look at, I know sports are a great way to get involved, but don’t let that take away the time you need to focus on your studies. Time goes by way faster than you think; don’t waste it.
What are your future plans (college with major if known or workforce) and where do you hope to be in five years? I plan on attending Northeast Community College majoring in Early Childhood Education. After college, I would like to be able to open up my own daycare somewhere in Northeast Nebraska. Within the next five years, I hope to be living in my own house/apartment using my degree to my advantage. I fully plan on sticking with Early Childhood Education whether it is running a daycare or teaching at a preschool because I believe the most important part of a child’s life is the beginning. My heart is set on this, and I am excited to have the opportunity to make it happen.
