Schutt Plays, Mlnarik Coaches NEN All-Star Basketball Game

Two Cyclones were back on the court this weekend in the Northeast Nebraska All-Star Basketball game.

On Friday, Shelly Mlnarik got one last chance to coach Tate Schutt - a 2014 graduate of Clearwater-Orchard High School - as they were both selected for the Light Team.

Mlnarik and Mike Emory of Pierce were named coaches for the Light Team, while Schutt was one of 10 players chosen for the team.

The 31st annual boys all-star game was held in the Cox Activities Center at Northeast Community College in Norfolk following the girls game.

During boys action, the Light Team battled with the Dark Team. A 6-point deficit in the first quarter was narrowed to two by the end of the third. With just 15 seconds left in the game and a tie score, a member of the Dark Team hit a 2-point jumper for the 85-83 win over the Light Team.

Schutt finished the game with one point, three rebounds and two assists.

Other members of the Light Team were Jalen Barry of Wayne, Lane Rohrich of Pierce, Adam Moon of St. Mary's, Matt McLeod of Ainsworth, Taylor Reedy of Norfolk, Stephen Medel of Norfolk, Tyler Hedlund of Boone Central-Newman Grove, Evan Nicholson of Wakefield and Grant Howell of Hartington Cedar Catholic. 

McLeod and Moon led the Light Team scorers with 14 points each, followed by Rohrich with 11.
