Nashville Songwriters To Perform After Clearwater Rodeo

Nashville is returning to Clearwater this weekend, bringing some familiar country music to the Big Clearwater Rodeo.

Tammy Bearinger, who helped organize the Nashville Songwriter's Performance, said Kevin Denney and Rick Huckaby will perform at the street dance both Friday, June 27, and Saturday, June 28, following the rodeo. Admission to the dance is $5.

Denney recorded several self-penned hits, including "That's Just Jesse" and "Cadillac Tears." He also had a hand in writing "Bonfire" for Craig Morgan, "A Cowboy And A Dancer” by Tracy Byrd, “Don’t Ask Me About A Woman” by Easton Corbin and “On The Other Side” by Dailey & Vincent.

Huckaby spent five years playing the acoustic guitar for Tracy Lawrence and has written nearly two dozen songs recorded by Lawrence. Most recently, Thomas Rhett took Huckaby's song “Beer With Jesus" into the Top 20. Huckaby has had songs recorded by Craig Morgan, Chad Brock and Jeremy McComb. 

Joining Denney and Huckaby will be Mike McCracken on steel guitar and Mark Wohlberg on bass. McCracken lives in Lincoln now but spent eight years in Nashville.
