Juvenile Cited For Vandalizing Mailboxes In Clearwater Area

A juvenile was cited over the weekend for criminal mischief after mailboxes in and around the Clearwater area were vandalized, according to the Antelope County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Darin Ternus said he began receiving phone calls Friday morning in reference to mailbox vandalism that occurred Thursday evening. Ternus said eight mailboxes inside the city limits and within a four-mile radius of Clearwater were damaged.

"After further investigation, I developed a suspect who confessed and was cited for criminal mischief," Ternus said.

After being cited for the misdemeanor, Ternus said the juvenile was released to parents.
