Julia Thiele Attends 'Big Red Stars' At UNL On Tuesday

Julia Thiele of Clearwater-Orchard joined other 8th grade students from across the state at the Big Red Stars program on Tuesday.  

Thiele was nominated by her guidance counselor, Becky Kerkman, to attend the event. The program is for 8th graders who showcase promising academic talent, leadership or perseverance. 

Big Red Stars was held at the University of Nebraka-Lincoln. The students checked into the Lied Center, heard different speakers, and had opportunities for different excursions around campus. There was also an awards ceremony where each student received individual recognition.

The event was sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and EducationQuest.
