Johnston's Big Night Helps Cyclones Go 1-1 At O-C Triangular

Sophomore JoCee Johnston was simply unstoppable Thursday night.

She recorded 23 kills in the Clearwater-Orchard Cyclones two matches at the Clearwater-Orchard Double Triangular. 

In the Cyclone match with Niobrara/Verdigre, Johnston put down eight kills on 11 attempts for an amazing 72.7 percent kill rate. That led Clearwater-Orchard to a straight set win, 25-13 and 25-17.

Johnston also had a strong match serving, recording three aces. Fellow Cyclone sophomore Grace Rittscher added four aces of her own.

In Cleawater-Orchard's showdown with Spalding Academy, Johnston exploded for 15 kills. Kinzly Macke was not far behind, adding 10 kills of her own for the Cyclones. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to give the Cyclones the win as they fell 25-18, 19-25 and 22-25.

Against Spalding Academy, Clearwater-Orchard showed strong defense despite the loss. Peyton Clifton brought up 13 digs while teammate Kylie Thiele was responsible for 11 digs.
