Cyclones Survive Overtime Against Stuart In NVC Quarterfinal

It took overtime, but the Clearwater-Orchard boys basketball team survived a tough matchup against Stuart on Thursday to advance to Friday's semifinals.

The Cyclones had a close first half with the Broncos, trailing by a single point at the half. Both teams had a big second half tying the game 55-55. The Cyclones powered through overtime pulling a ten point lead for the win 68-58.

Senior Jagger Smith put up an impressive 33 points in the contest, followed by Andy Kerkman with 13. Blake Kester shot 8, Zach Martin shot 6, Blake Hoke had 5, and Travis Kerkman had 3 points.

This improves their record to 12-5 on the season and propels them into the NVC semifinals against West Holt.
