Cyclones Split With Bulldogs; Boys Still Perfect This Season

Hosting a C2 school for the first time this season, the Clearwater-Orchard basketball teams split with Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Saturday.

The Cyclones have played two other C2 teams (Plainview & Niobrara/Verdigre) this season but both were away games.

On their home court, the girls dropped a 59-46 decision to the Bulldogs while the boys won 56-48 for their 11th straight victory. 

In the girls game, Whitney Rittscher led the Cyclones with 13 points. Kinzly Macke added another 12 points. Rittscher also pulled down nine rebounds while Macke grabbed seven more.

In the boys game, Andy Kerkman had a triple-double with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocks. Classmate Jagger Smith had 25 points and four steals. Trevor Mlnarik had a big night on the boards with 10 rebounds to go with this 10 points.

The Cyclones will be back in the action on Tuesday when they host another Class C2 school, Neligh-Oakdale. The Warrior girls will bring a 2-12 record while the boys are 11-2.
